Crazy Contraptions are a series of workshops where children explore Science and Engineering through building.

Builds include:

Windmills and gears, this covers how wind turbines work, how gears can speed thing up and slow them down.

Pivot points, this covers how force and distance from a pivot point (fulcrum) are related. Children build balance beams and catapults

Rubber band racers, this covers stored energy and also brings in skills learnt in the gears session.

R/C cars, this brings in skills learnt in previous sessions and allows a lot of creativity. The children race their final creations to see who has build the fastest car.
